The EMBIJ is a friendly regional competition for beginner and intermediate fencers
We aim to provide plenty of fencing, with two rounds of poules and all fencers promoted to direct elimination (DE) – fencers will not be expected to referee at any stage of this competition.
This competition is open to fencers with British Fencing membership at Starter, Recreational or Compete levels (membership via the Introductory offer is not sufficient for insurance purposes). Fencers must be affiliated with East Midlands region in their Sport80 membership – please go here for more information about regional affiliation and how to change this if required.
Please note that depending on entries received, we may need to combine categories (in the case of beginner and intermediate fencers) or category and/or age group (in the case of fencers under 13) in order to produce a big enough poule to run a particular weapon on the day. If numbers allow, we would then run the DE round in separate categories.
Make sure you check the email account connected with Sport80 for messages from us around check in times etc. to ensure that the competition runs as smoothly as possible.
